Rescue, Realign, Restructure: How the MCA Toolkit Helped WagWel Rescue Strengthen Its Growth Strategy

WagWel Rescue, formerly R HOUSE HEALTHY DINER & LOUNGE LLC., Vietnam’s only rehabilitation center for abused, neglected, and disabled rescue dogs and cats, provides a unique space where the community can help these animals regain their confidence and joy.

With a mission to bridge the gap between local shelters and animal lovers, WagWel creates a space where people can interact, adopt, or foster rescues while enjoying delicious vegan and vegetarian food options.

The Challenge

As WagWel transitioned from a family-run business into a professionally managed organization, they turned to the Impact Business Lab (IBL) program to look for fresh perspectives and multidisciplinary approaches to scale up and tackle their problem statement below:

Through the IBL, WagWel was able to benefit from Impact Link Asia’s flagship product, the Mission Capacity Assessment (MCA) toolkit, to gain clarity on their current stage and pinpoint areas needing improvement.

The Result

The toolkit highlighted specific areas—communication, financials, and operations—that required immediate action. With its visual and data-driven approach, MCA made it easier for WagWel’s leadership to prioritize strategies and measure progress. This structure has been essential as they restructure and realign the business for sustainable growth.
